Today when I was checking out at Trader Joes, the cashier asked me how my day was going, the typical friendly greeting. Then he said, “With everything going on in the world, tell me something good, something that makes you grateful?” I have to say it caught me off guard at first, but then I thought why not focus on the positive. I didn’t stop to think about it, I just said what first came to my mind. “I am grateful that I am healthy and I haven’t gotten sick during this pandemic,” I said.
Seriously, things could be so much worse for all of us. If we can just jot down 5 things we are grateful for every morning, imagine how our day would turn out. I have done exactly that for a while now, so before I get out of bed, I count my blessings and go through my check list of what I am grateful for. It has made a huge difference in my outlook considering all that is happening in our world, our state, our city and our communities. It doesn’t have to be big things, it can be little things like seeing flowers blooming outside your window, smelling the coffee brewing in the morning, hearing your children laughing, or getting a call from a friend just to see how you are doing.
All of those small things add up to big things putting one big beautiful smile on that face of yours. It’s hard to see smiles right now, but our eyes tell it all. We have seen your smiling eyes walk through the doors of Meadow Boutique and I have to say we feel so grateful! It’s the little things you all do to make us feel good. It feels like old friends getting together when you are shopping with us and chatting it up. There is noting better right now than the exchange of human connection. So next time you come in - tell us something good that’s going on with you. We are interested, believe me.
This week, like every week, Shelley makes a point to always insure that fashion is forever changing in the boutique, with all our new arrivals. This week we have a few Gilli jumpsuits, a couple of delightful oh so detailed skirts, shirt type dresses that cinch up on the side for a little added interest, a variety of sweatshirts for those cool evenings when you are venturing out in nature or on the water, and last but not least, some super cute espadrille sandals.
