I remember being in high school, sitting around with my friends and talking about the year 2000 and how old we would be. I was 14 in 1972 when this conversation took place. With our math expertise we figured out we would be 42 years old. When you are 14, that seems pretty old. We couldn’t even fathom what it would be like to live to that age. It seemed so old.
The year 2000 was a big deal. The computers were suppose to crash all over the world and disasters were to take place. In the year 2000, I was living in Bangkok at the time. We decided to do something big if the world was going to come to an end as we knew it. With our friends, we stayed at a very extravagant hotel, fit for a king & queen. I was 42 years old and that did not seem old at all, by the time I got there. It was a magnificent night and life went on as we knew it as the fireworks graced the skies at midnight. Everything stayed intact in the world. We were all fine, no disasters with our computers. We woke up to a new day, a new century and I was 42 years old, just like we calculated years before..
Here we are 23 years later. My, how time flies and now I will be 65 this year. I didn’t sit around with friends and wonder how old I would be in 2023. I can tell you if I had thought about it in my 40’s, 65 would seem old. But here I am alive and well and living my best life. In my retirement years I have had the privilege of working at Meadow Boutique for the past 3 years. I have gotten to know all of you. I have seen you get rid of the old and and try on the new. You have made Meadow Boutique part of your routines to check the blog and see what’s new every week. We hope that doesn’t change because we love showcasing all of our new items every week for you to look at to see how you can fit them in your wardrobe. We are optimistic about this year and all of the fashion we will be able to offer you. Shelley will definitely stay in the same trend of purchasing fashion forward pieces at those same amazing prices. You can count on it!
So in the last week of the year, what’s new at Meadow Boutique? There’s lots of color in right now to get us in that New Year spirit. So many great pieces to pick from. Look below and see for your self!
CHERISH in with some awesome sweaters in some bright colors and a couple of button downs. &MERCI with some more bright colors in sweaters. BLU PEPPER & STACCATO with the usual beige & white. MINE & BY THE RIVER have lace tops to add to your wardrobe. Dress them up or down because they are both quite versatile. Lace is fun to add to a pair of jeans and high tops. It’s really a fun look!
We have all been through a lot together in the past few years. So what makes this New Year coming any different? I think it is a change of attitude. A change of perspective. The change within ourselves we all have the option to critique. I am not one for New Years resolutions. It always seems like a setup for disaster. Things change, things happen, life takes a turn and we have to re-evaluate our own personal goals. I say just figure out what makes you happy and go for it. Be your own authentic self and take care of you, because we know that taking care of others will follow. It’s like putting the mask on yourself in case of a water landing. Only then can you help the ones next to you put on their masks. That scenario can transfer to our everyday lives in many situations we deal with along the way.
We can’t wait to see you again. This is going to be an amazing year for all of us, right? So come in. Get brave. Try on some color. Take your New Year to a new level! After all, we deserve a New Year’s gift after buying for everyone else. Take inventory of what you have in your closet and get rid of the pieces you aren’t going to wear. Bag them up. Donate them. Come visit Meadow to spruce up your closet with new fashion....new you. Happy New Year to you and your family! Cheers to 2023! xoxoxoxo
