That’s right - you heard me right! The new arrivals this week are a “little bit of everything.” The pieces that arrived can still be your Summer attire and then some will transition you into Fall. I said it, yes, Fall. It seems like it was just Spring not long ago. It’s the time of year when kids start thinking about going back to school and getting all the items they will need for a successful school year. It’s different this year with kids learning online, but school clothes are still in order. So while you are buying those new clothes for your kids, remember you could possibly be their teacher, so you want to look your best as well.
In quarantine, the self-expression of clothing has been somewhat lost to the monotony of sweatpants and T-shirts. Without being able to go out, with no one to impress and no reason to get dressed up, people who view clothing as a form of their personal identity have struggled with the reality of quarantine. For some, clothing also helps people to transition from work to exercise to leisure, and without having to get dressed up for different parts of the day, time begins to bleed together. It seems like some clothing companies understand the psychology at play here. I’ve been getting promotional emails from clothing stores telling me to “treat myself” and from Target advertising its “mood-boosting” graphic T-shirts.
If there’s one item to come out of COVID-19 and define the aesthetic around the world, it’s the face mask. With the CDC currently recommending that people wear cloth facial coverings in public settings, it's likely to become the most ubiquitous item, next to sweats and leggings. We are selling face masks so fast at Meadow Boutique and we have to admit we all looking for a mask to match each of our outfits we are sporting each day.
So there will be a time when this passes and we can get dressed up again for different occasions. Here’s to dressing up, enjoying feel-good trends like eco-friendly fabrics and calming colors, and wearing clothes that define our individual aesthetic once again. We say everyday is an occasion. You are alive. You have your family and friends. You have your pets in which to snuggle. You have a home to live and love in and healthy food to eat. Hopefully, most of you still have a job and are making the proper adjustments to look at work in a new way that creates more time for you and your family!

I am out of breath! Dress yourself, make yourself feel good about being alive and here for each other - we are all in this together! Can’t wait to see you and hear what pieces you like best. That’s the fun part for us at Meadow; seeing you look at your beautiful image in the mirror in one of the outfits we have to offer….that warms our hearts, really, more than you know. We look forward to seeing you this weekend and trying on some of our new arrivals.!
