It’s August already. It’s hard to believe, really. Our brain seems to want to go back to March, April and May and try to figure out how this year has gone by so fast. Now we slowly start cooling off a bit and needing a little extra cover-up. Of course we have new pieces this week that we are sure you will want to add to your wardrobe. With rompers still in the mix and some short light & corduroy jackets, bird & cat sweatshirts and a really colorful bohemian, funky dress, there is something for everyone. Meadow Boutique is full of surprises this weekend! On Saturday we have a special treat for you. From 12-4, we will have a special pop-up shop with handcrafted jewelry by Leah Pastrana. You don’t want to miss this event. This jewelry will be a favorite for you when you see Leah’s style.
Leah Pastrana is a Seattle Native, Mexican and Irish blood and a UW graduate. Her work has a modern focus using multiple geometric shapes as well as mixing gold and silver metals in her pieces. Her most recent work blends raw brass components using African glass and tribal beads. She also has started a line of repurposed leather and faux leather earrings.
Each piece that she creates is a wearable piece of art. Leah loves geometric shapes and mixed metals. She uses raw brass, sterling silver and gemstones. Her goal has always been to create affordable handmade jewelry. Leah’s jewelry is modern, minimalist with an edge.
“Creating jewelry started as an outlet for my need to express my feelings about the world and my experiences in it. I am inspired by vibrant colors, travel, songs, movies and people. Each person that I have met in my life has a story. Whether positive or negative I learn and grow from each story. I am blessed.”
