Fall Back. Spring Forward. We have lost an hour of sleep but gained an hour of daylight. It is so nice to have longer days to enjoy now. Especially when the days are getting warmer and the flowers are starting to bloom. All these happenings are signs of Spring. Yes, Spring, it’s finally here on March 20. If you’re thinking of a city that screams Spring, Seattle isn’t it. Drizzle can fall well into June (and sometimes even after), making sunny skies rare but precious. I know we value every single sunny day we have in Seattle.
Seattle in the Spring is a playground for those brave enough to weather the rain. After all, the rain isn’t all that heavy come March and April. At least, nothing that a light rain jacket can’t fix (remember, us locals don’t use umbrellas). Throw on a jacket like the Seattleite you are and experience everything Seattle has to offer in the spring. You might find a new favorite time of year out here in the Pacific Northwest. Not sure of that for me. I like sunshine as I get older, it lifts my spirits and makes me a lot more energetic.
Then why am I living in Seattle you ask? That’s a good question. I have spent over 35 years here altogether. I have traveled the world and have been to some very interesting places. The bottom line is I started my family here and that’s where they reside except for my daughter in New Mexico. Home is really where your family is and that’s where your heart lies. I will say, in a couple of years we will be retiring to Mexico so we can have sunshine, sea and a lower cost of living. I expect to have family visiting often, at least I tell myself that so it makes me feel less guilty for leaving. Despite the rain, Seattle has a beautiful Spring as it gets closer to Summer and I am here to enjoy it while I can.
What’s new at Meadow Boutique this week? All I can say is beautiful Spring florals by STACCATO and some lovely tops. There are also some stylish dresses that came in that might interest you. One by CES FEMME and another by LUSH. Have a look below but as you know, photos don’t do much justice to the materials and patterns, so you must come in and check them out. Easter and Mother’s Day will be here before you know it, and we want you to feel as stylish as possible.
I am all about dresses right now. It’s been fun styling them and adding different pieces to create my own unique style. Anything goes, kind of like the 70’s. So…….try putting on your favorite dress with some socks and tennis shoes. Throw on a sweater, light jacket, a scarf, and seriously you are good to go! Layering is a must in Seattle as we well know and I for one and pulling together all my dresses right now to style them and transition them into Spring. There are so many ways to wear them. We have been in comfy clothes long enough behind closed doors. It’s time to get out and strut your stuff. You haven’t forgotten how to do that, have you? I have worn mine with jeans, leggings, boots, tennis shoes and thick soled loafers. Blazers and sweaters have certainly been part of the mix as well as a fun, floppy hat. We want to see what you will put together, so come in and try some things on to see what you can create with that dress of yours.
As always, we thank you for your support and love. We are in the phase of removing our masks if we so desire. We do not require you to wear a mask in Meadow Boutique, that is up to you now. We are absolutely obliged to putting on a mask if you would like us to do so. As of now, we mostly have shed our masks and found some amazing lip colors to enhance what has been covered for so long. We are smiling, and we can’t wait to see your long lost smile again soon. xoxoxox
