In the retail world we usually call the beginning of the year Resort Wear season; which translates to people heading somewhere that’s warm because the Winter blues have really gotten them down. They want fashion that is wearable for weather on the beach, in a boat, or outdoor restaurants. We long for warm air and sunshine. Spring and Summer can’t come soon enough. This is the time Seattleites have had enough of the rain and just want to get away for a little bit. It breaks up the monotony of the dreary weather.
When you walk into Meadow Boutique you will see many pieces that are made for the seasons ahead. We have fashion that can take you on a little trip or fashion that is still warm for the few weeks ahead. Right now, we seem to have it all. Looking around the boutique makes me think of Spring and taking a trip to Mexico to relax. My husband and I are trying to do that as soon as possible, but now because of the price of gas, the tickets have gone up $500. I am ready to get away from the hustle and bustle of all that is happening in the world. All the colors right now on our racks, just make me smile. I guess I could dream myself away…..just like the Calgon days. You know what I am talking about if you are as old as I am. If you aren’t, let me take a minute to explain. There was a TV ad back in the day about Calgon bath crystals. It showed a woman in the tub and the ad said, “Calgon take me away,” as she sits there in the bath dreaming of all kinds of relaxing places. I think all women during that time had Calgon stashed away in their bathroom cupboards in hopes that Calgon could actually take us away to some beautiful place if we would let our minds relax. Oh, the good old days…….
OK, enough day dreaming, what’s new at Meadow Boutique this week:
We have shorts, tees and even joggers from LOVE TREE. Sleeveless body suits from DOUBLE ZERO. Theres a cute floral dress in black by CES FEMME. We have so many pairs of denim right now from MUSELOOKS, TNR and RISEN to name a few. When you stop in you will be mesmerized by all the beautiful Spring colors. I highly encourage you to stop be and see for yourself!
It’s time to wrap this up, so you can get out in the beautiful weather we are having today. I am heading out this weekend to see my daughter in New Mexico. I am truly excited to get out of town and do some hiking and eat some great Tex-Mex food with my daughter. I won’t be at Meadow this weekend but rest assured there are plenty of lovely people that can take care of you. You will find many pieces that will make you happy, so come in and explore, especially because it’s suppose to be raining all weekend in Seattle. What else will you be doing?
Shelley’s daughter, Keira, has graced us with some Girl Scout Cookies to help with sales. Supporting Girl Scouts and buying the cookies is a worthwhile cause that’s hard to pass up. The prices have not changed, they are still $5 cash only. So you might as well stock up while you can in light of International Women’s Day, which of course includes our girls. Empower the girls around you and have some cookies in the meantime. xoxoxoxo
