Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 that celebrates the planet Earth and raises public awareness about environmental issues. The day is observed worldwide with rallies, conferences, school projects and other activities. It also happens to be my Birthday. Every year I respectfully plant a tree to give praise to our Mother Earth. Planting trees is super easy, and you should be able to get saplings from your local garden stores. If you don't have a yard where you can plant a tree, you can still get one planted through the Nature Conservancy. Earth Day is an opportunity to have a conversation about what we need to do.
Truth be told, every day should be Earth Day. Without a livable planet, we have nothing. Please find ways this year to help our planet survive and thrive for us and future generations. It’s as simple as buying fresh in season fruits and vegetables, picking up some litter, composting your kitchen scraps, buy less stuff, reuse everything you can, swap and trade, reduce plastic use and best of all just GO OUTSIDE! Having an appreciation for our earth and its wildlife starts with actually going outside and experiencing nature for yourself. You'll grow to love the trees, the clean air, and the country by spending time surrounded by the nature we're trying so hard to protect.
Make a promise to yourself that no matter what else you can or can't do this April, at least spend some time outside. Go walk more than normal, maybe even take a hike in the woods. Do whatever you can to spend some quality time with this earth. You will be glad you did.
What’s new this week at Meadow, you ask?
Just more great pieces to add to your wardrobe for this Spring/Summer season. SM WARDROBE, BY THE RIVER have more lovely dresses. HYFVE has thrown a dress and skirt into the mix. We have lots of light tops from DOE & RAE and BLU PEPPER. We have some scarves that can be a bandana for the head or a pop of color around the neck in absolutely luscious colors. DREAMERS sweaters came in 3 new colors that are perfect for a cool night or thrown over a dress, with jeans anything really. That’s the beauty of DREAMERS sweaters, they are so versatile. Check out the photos below and see for yourself. There is never a dull or hum-drum moment at Meadow, that’s for sure. With new arrivals every week, you will never get bored with what’s on our racks. It’s like shopping at a new boutique each time you come in because there is always something new to see.
If there is a way to do a reverse rain dance, let’s all get to it. It feels like the weather for Spring skipped us this year. Perhaps we will just go right into warmer temps overnight. You never can tell what’s going to happen here in the northwest! We are truly optimistic. Many people are leaving for trips to get warm. I certainly am!
