Not to make fun, but I want to a little bit. I lived in Colorado for 15 years and I wore black like most of us like to do, but never as much as people do here. It was sunny everyday so being colorful with fashion was just part of the landscape. Seattle fashionistas have mastered the art of "groutfits" (gray outfits) because, let's be honest, it matches the sky most of the time. Who needs a color palette when you can just blend in with the overcast heavens above? I say add a little rainbow to all that grey and try some color with those beige, black and grey colors. I have said this for so long, you are probably sick of hearing it. But bear with me, my days are numbered now! LOL
Seattle fashion, where practicality meets precipitation in a never-ending love affair with plaid. It's like Mother Nature herself decided that flannel was going to be the official uniform of the city. Whether it's rain or shine, we will find a way to incorporate plaid into our outfits.
And let's not forget the ubiquitous coffee cups. Accessory of the day? That double-shot caramel macchiato, of course. It's not just a pick-me-up; it's a fashion statement. Extra points if you spill a bit on your flannel - it's the Pacific Northwest equivalent of tie-dye.
Seattleites embrace the uniqueness of their city, and that includes their fashion sense. So whether you're sporting plaid, groutfit, or a cup of artisanal coffee, you're sure to make a statement in the Emerald City. I love Seattle, please don’t get me wrong. It’s just quirky at times with fashion. I love that Shelley always keeps Meadow Boutique fashion forward. There is so much to chose from no matter what you like to wear. You have so many options to step out of your box and try something new. I challenge you to do so!
What’s new at Meadow Boutique this week? Everything we have is definitely Seattle wear!
LOVE TREE has the warmth you need this season with a lovely grey coat and a plaid shacket, yes I said plaid. ZENANA with sweaters in greys and blacks and a teal thrown in for good measure. The teal is so rich and beautiful and is already selling out! Then you have BY THE RIVER, MINE, LISTICLE all with sweaters and plaids for your viewing pleasure below! We have so many hats, scarves and gloves right now, and now is when you need them. The monotone colors are your favorites with some bright colors thrown in too. I wish I could buy one of each, but no - Mexico Kathy - Mexico! My winter fashion is getting packed up - I don’t need another thing!
Who’s listening to me? Oh, I must admit, I'm into fashion, especially when it comes to Seattle fashion. I mean, who better to give advice on layering for constant drizzle and mastering the art of blending in with the gray skies, right? But here's the kicker: I'm moving to Mexico!
So, my extensive knowledge of waterproof jackets, flannel shirts, and grunge-inspired outfits is about to go out the window faster than an umbrella in a Seattle storm. Get ready for me to give fashion advice on sombreros, vibrant sarapes, and finding the perfect spot to rock a poncho. Forget those rain boots; it's time for some stylish huaraches. My fashion game is about to experience a caliente makeover! Adiós, Seattle style, and hello, Mexican flair! I will be writing for a lovely publication online called “Mazatlan Life” owned by Sheila Madsen. I will be the Fashion Writer - imagine that! I can hardly wait for this new adventure.
