Smell the fresh air, gaze up at the trees blooming, enjoy the colors of all the beautiful flowers here in Seattle. This is the time of year we live for….Spring and Summer. There is no place like Seattle when it comes to blue sky and sunshine. We still have a little rain and cool weather to get through, but it will be worth it when we are able to take in all the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. The past couple of years have been rough for a lot of people, so to gaze out of our windows and see things bloom and change gives us hope. Let us also be reminded to be gentle with ourselves and others as we make our way out into the world. The pandemic in the past 2 years, have left many people inside their homes and alone. Sometimes we tend to forget that, so kindness goes along way as we get out and about on these lovely Spring days.
In the spirit of new beginnings and possibilities, spring presents the capacity to embrace a new hobby or practice that cultivates well-being. The revitalizing nature of the season is great for setting intentions and putting them into action.
Instead of the hours spent mindlessly scrolling on social media or watching television, one can put efforts towards putting their time into fulfilling pastimes such as exercising, reading, creative pursuits, and volunteering. Doing a little shopping to refresh your wardrobe should also be on this list. I know for a fact that when you are feeling good with what you are wearing, it shows in your demeanor.
In Denver, in my other life, I started the affiliate, Dress for Success. The mission of Dress for Success is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. We had a boutique where women were referred to come see us if they had a job interview. We then dressed them in a work appropriate outfit, including shoes, handbag and jewelry. Many of these women had been through very hard times and had no confidence that they would look or feel good in anything. Our personal shoppers worked with them finding the best outfits that were suited for their body type and sent them to the dressing room with a variety of clothing that would help them feel like they were worthy of becoming a working women. There was a 3-way mirror in the dressing room area where we would ask the women to come out so we could see if the clothes were fitted properly. In truth, it was for them to stand in front of that 3-way mirror, have a look at themselves transformed. Just writing about this, brings tears to my eyes. To witness the women’s faces when they saw themselves in the perfect fitting clothes and accessories, was truly a sight to behold. So very empowering!
There is nothing in the world more beautiful than a women seeing herself in flattering clothes and radiating confidence in herself because of what she sees standing before her. So, I know for a fact that women need just that; beautiful clothes that fit their bodies and flattering pieces that make them do a double take at themselves in the mirror. As my Peloton instructor always says, “Treat your body like it’s someone you love.”We, as women deserve to give ourselves the very best, to love and outfit our bodies, to feel confident about what we wear, no matter what kind of outing we are involved in. If you give us a chance, we can do just that at Meadow Boutique.
What’s new this week at Meadow Boutique? I am sure some of these pieces will be needed as wardrobe basics. There’s a little fun flower power too in the playful rompers. Be brave. Try new things. Venture out. Don’t judge a piece by what it might look like on the hanger. Give it try! This week we have items from LOVE TREE & LES AMIS. Have a look below to see what you might want to come and try on. We are here waiting patiently! We know you can find some fun pieces that will make you feel good about yourself and the body you love. Let us help you…..pretty please. xoxoxoxo
