A Little Local Color

October 16, 2026 Shelley Hall

Sometimes the best style inspiration isn’t hanging in your closet. It’s waiting somewhere out in the city.

This week, Seattle’s glass artists are giving us a reason to go looking. Refract: The Seattle Glass Experience continues through Sunday, October 18, with exhibitions, open studios and glassblowing demonstrations throughout Seattle and the surrounding region. If you have a little time this weekend, go exploring—you might discover a color combination that inspires your next outfit.

You might notice two colors you’d never thought to put together. Or find yourself drawn to a small detail that makes an entire piece interesting. And somewhere along the way, you might think, “I’d love to wear something like that.”

That’s where art finds its way into everyday style.

This week’s new arrivals from CIELO at Meadow give us plenty to play with. Take the chocolate brown sweater with pale blue stripes. That combination is a lovely surprise—the cool blue brings a fresh perspective to the rich brown. Wear it with your favorite jeans and let the colors do the talking.

Then there’s the navy cardigan edged in pink, with contrasting buttons and handy front pockets. That little touch of pink changes the whole mood, giving a familiar classic a playful personality.

Our stripes have personalities of their own, too. Cream with navy and a generous ribbed neckline feels timeless, while broad red and dark stripes make a bolder statement. The fine-striped sweater with solid dark sleeves offers another way to enjoy the pattern. Same idea, different expressions.

For those drawn to quieter colors, the dusty pink cardigan and deep green pullovers bring their own appeal. Their knit textures invite a closer look, and they make lovely starting points for a favorite scarf, an interesting necklace or earrings you haven’t worn in a while.

You don’t need to rethink your entire wardrobe. Sometimes a different color pairing or one expressive accessory helps you see what you already own with fresh eyes. Try pink alongside navy. Let pale blue brighten brown. Give a familiar outfit a detail that makes you smile.

There’s also something satisfying about finding inspiration close to home. Visiting an artist’s studio and shopping at a small boutique like Meadow, connect us to the people who give Seattle its character. Their choices, imagination and care make our neighborhoods more interesting.

So make a little room for discovery this week at Meadow Boutique. Explore some local art, notice the colors that catch your eye and take that curiosity into your closet.

At Meadow, this week’s new arrivals are ready to spark a few ideas. A little local color can go a long way. Can’t wait for you to stop by. We will be waiting with lots of color and excitement! xoxoxo
